Prof. Dr. Servet TURAN

Head of The Group

Servet TURAN is a Professor at Materials Science and Engineering at the Anadolu University in Eskisehir / TURKEY. He received his B.Sc. in 1988 at Istanbul Technical University and M.Sc. in 1990 at Leeds University whereas he finished his PhD degree at Cambridge University in 1995. Since then, he has been at Anadolu University. His research interests include the Lithium-Ion Batteries, Thermoelectric Materials, Advanced Ceramics and Electron Microscopy Based Techniques for characterization of all sorts of materials including in-situ heating.

Res. Asst. Kamil Burak DERMENCI

PhD

K. Burak Dermenci got his BSc degree from Istanbul Technical University (I.T.U.), Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Program in 2010. Then, in 2012, he obtained his MSc degree from I.T.U, Materials Science and Engineering Program with the thesis based on the production of Ag/ZnO Nanocomposite Particles via USP Method and their photocatalytic behaviour. He’s working as a Research Assistant in Anadolu University since 2012 and his PhD thesis is based on the developing of All- Solid State Li-ion Batteries.

Res. Asst. Semih ENGUN

PhD Candidate

Semih ENGUN is a Research Assistant of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Bulent Ecevit University in Zonguldak / TURKEY. He received his B.Sc. in 2012 and M.Sc. in 2016 in Department of Materials Science and Engineering from Anadolu University in EskiÅŸehir / TURKEY. He is now Ph.D. student in the same department. His research interests include the Lithium-Ion Batteries and Electron Backscattered Diffraction (EBSD) Techniques.

Furkan BULUC

BSc Student

Furkan is studying liquid and solid electrolytes application for lithium-ion battery assembly. He also using COMSOL software for simulation of all solid state lithium-ion batteries. He works on electrochemical performance of different anode materials to observe their characteristics and improvability. He has been in ST-AR Lithium-ion batteries Research Group since May 2017.

Cem Eren OZBILGIN

MSc Student

Cem has BSc degree in Physics from Anadolu University. He started his MSc studies in 2013 on Materials Science and Engineering. His research interests include processing of glass and glass-ceramic electrolytes, texturing ceramics under strong magnetic field and characterization techniques, especially XRD & SEM. During his Master's studies, he has collaborated with research groups in CSIC (Spain) and NIMS (Japan). His studies are focused on improving the ionic conductivity of NaSICON-type LATP solid electrolytes.

Tayfun KOCAK

MSc Student

He has been the member of Material Science field since 2006. During the bachelor's degree, he participated several hydrogen car competitions in national and international level. After graduated, he researched in battery field for next generation transportation industry. Now, he is PhD. candidate at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics about futurist battery projects.

Yigit AKBAS

BSc Student - Graduated in 2018

Yigit has been conducting XRD phase analysis, Desktop SEM imaging and synthesis of the cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries. Recently, he is working on lithium iron silicate cathode material. He has been working in the STAR Lithium-ion Batteries Research Group since April 2016. Currently, he is doing his master at Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department at Middle East Technical University, working on metal hydrate batteries.

Alparslan Ali BALTA

BSc Student - Graduated in 2018

He is a BSc student in Materials Science and Engineering at Anadolu University. He completed his internship as an intern researcher at TÜBÄ°TAK-MAM on satellite battery project. Currently, he is working on solid state lithium ion batteries and distinctive battery design supported by TÜBÄ°TAK 2209-A. He has been in the STAR Research Group since October 2016. Currently, he is a master student at department of materials science and engineering at Eskisehir Technical University, working on production of solid-state lighting materials.

Esra SAHIN

BSc Student - Graduated in 2018

She is BSc student in Material Science and Engineering at Anadolu University. She has been working on all solid state lithium ion battery and distinctive battery design. She is working on the synthesis and characterization of all solid state lithium ion battery for electric vehicles supported by TÜBÄ°TAK. She has been in the STAR Research Group since October 2016.
